When you first arrive in any country during your travels there are a few things you should make sure you do before you head off to discover what secrets your new surroundings have to offer.
We know it’s tempting to hit up a bar and have a few drinks to unwind on the way to your hotel but trust us when we say that this is something best left until after you sort yourself out in your new destination.
This might sound pretty obvious but depending on the country you’re in this can be more challenging than you first thought.
The easiest way to solve this problem would be to book a transfer to your hotel from the airport but if you haven’t done this then make sure you at least have a rough idea of how to get to your hotel and can at least say the name of it (in some countries this is actually quite a challenge) so you can ask for directions.
